Last July American scientists from the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Interior Department’s Minerals Management Service discovered in their trawl net a real monster- a 19.5-feet squid with fearsome weigh of 103 pounds.
The squid was caught in 1500 feet underwater. When the monster was pulled out, it died. The amazed seamen sent its body for a further research to the National Museum of Natural History.
This is not the first enormous squid, which was ever found. It easily could be named the rarest species in the world, because last time when a giant squid was caught, it was in the Gulf in Mexico back in 1954.
